The Pony Express Race

The Pony Express Race is a timed event that explores the partnership betweeen a horseperson and their equine mount. A cross-country obstacle challenge, the Pony Express Race tests the courage of the rider and confidence of the horse, demonstrates the versatility of the team and their ability to conquer the unknown, and finally is a testament to their physical and mental endurance as they battle through a multitude of challenges interwoven through a beautiful cross country track.

Each horse is a reflection of the rider’s ability

The Pony Express Race combines elements of Endurance Riding with Extreme Cowboy Challenges in a timed event. Each team is given one chance to conquer the challenges encountered on the trail, with a penalty assessed for failing on the first attempt. The Pony Express Race, like the business of 1860 after which it is named, is not easy and success is never guaranteed. Only the best horse and rider teams will complete the course, and it takes a superb team to be crowned the champion.

Foundation before specialization.
