The Elements

The original pony express riders encountered many elements as they made their trek across the continent. Danger was everywhere, and learning to be prepared for anything was the name of the game.

In The Pony Express Race ‘the elements’ are man-made obstacles and challenges designed to test the versatility and endurance of each competitor.

Each Pony Express Race features different elements. While a few elements are standard staples of The Pony Express Race, competitors should be prepared for anything just as the original pony express riders back in 1860.

Some expected elements include:

  1. Back Through Obstacle – Competitors will need to back through this obstacle without disturbing the barriers in order to pass.
  2. Mounting Block – Competitors will need to dismount onto the mounting block, and remount without touching the ground in order to be successful.
  3. ZOO Chute – Competitors will need to ride through an alleyway which has various animals in it.
  4. Sound The Alarm – Competitors will need to stand on their saddle and sound the alarm in order to pass this element.
